WELCOME TO THE EARLY HICO PICTORIAL EXHIBIT
It is quite likely that most Texas towns have a story to tell and locals willing to tell it. Understandably, some of the stories are more interesting than others.
Hico’s story is unusual for two reasons. First, its history was photographically recorded from its infancy by a well known, professional photographer – Frank Wiseman. Second, in 1890 entrepreneurial townsmen created an architectural environment that nourished a thriving, prosperous, unique community even as early as the turn of the previous century. This exhibit, housed in the second of two 1895 restored buildings now occupied by Blue Star Trading, Ranch Outfitters and Blue Star Home, is testimony to the story that has unfolded over the past hundred years. Step back in time with us, enjoy the architecture of the original Petty Brother’s Mercantile Company and the proud history of a truly special Texas town.
Blue Star Trading welcomes you to our building and exhibit.
